El pasado 27 de Noviembre, se inauguró otra etapa más dentro del Fórum Cultural Guanajuato, ya que fue abierto al público el Museo de Arte e Historia de Guanajuato con dos grandes exhibiciones, una de ellas dedicada a tres siglos de pintura mexicana y la otra dedicada a la tradición de los nacimientos.
El lugar tiene una extensión de más de 22,000 metros cuadrados y es el mayor de su tipo.
En total son 4 salas de exhibición, pero solo dos fueron abiertas por el momento, una de ellas es la sala “Luis Garcia Guerrero”, que albergara por espacio de más de dos meses a “la colección pictórica del Banco Nacional de México”, esa sala cuenta con más de mil metros cuadrados de extensión; y la otra sala que abrió sus puertas es la “Feliciano Peña” que es de menor tamaño y además puede recibir conferencias o proyecciones audiovisuales, en esta sala se encuentra la exposición de “Nacimientos Mexicanos: Arte y Tradición Popular”.
Es una excelente oportunidad de conocer estas dos grandes colecciones, ya que la colección pictórica tiene más de 12º obras realizadas entre los siglos XVII al XX con grandes pintores tales como: Thomas Egerton, Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros y Frida Kalho entre otros; y la colección de Nacimientos Mexicanos, cuenta con más de 50 nacimientos en diferentes tipos de materiales, tales como: barro, madera, piedra, papel entre otros.
